Chapter 10

2022 —

Rebuilding the team, building trust.

If in 2021 we woke up to find the factory almost empty, in 2022 there were times when it was almost impossible to move between houses. But beyond work and houses, there was something else we needed to rebuild: the team. That was the more human side of 2022. But at the same time, another equally important change was brewing: the take-off of B2B.

Rebuilding the team, building trust.

If in 2021 we woke up to find the factory almost empty, in 2022 there were times when it was almost impossible to move between houses. This contrast perfectly sums up how we experienced that year: with the facilities operating at full capacity and the feeling that we were finally getting back on track.

But beyond work and homes, there was something else we needed to rebuild: the team. After so many months of uncertainty, remote working, pandemics, and personal and professional ups and downs, we needed to feel part of something bigger again. And, to be honest, we also wanted to have some fun…

That year we celebrated the first ‘Pallehaus’. For those who don’t know, it’s our internal paella competition. Random teams are formed (to mix departments), we all cook in the courtyard of the warehouse with music and snacks, and a random jury chooses the winning team. Since then, it has become an annual tradition. And the best part is that this day creates memories and stories that stay with us throughout the year.

We also launched ‘Almorhaus’, an event to open the factory to workers’ families. Burgers, chips, children’s entertainment and, above all, a tour of the factory to show ‘the magic that happens here every day’. Seeing how employees proudly show what we do to their children, partners or parents is one of the most exciting experiences I have ever had. For me personally, it reminds me of the enormous responsibility we have: not only to those who work here, but also to all the families who depend on inHAUS.

And to top it all off, we organised a very special team-building exercise: a minibus trip to see an on-site assembly in Sotogrande. It was a day of intensive training — because seeing an implementation in action is the culmination of everyone’s hard work — and, at the same time, two days of bonding that brought us even closer together… with the inevitable hangover on the return journey, of course.

That was the more human side of 2022. But at the same time, another equally important change was brewing: the rise of B2B.

We were emerging from the pandemic when, suddenly, war broke out in Ukraine. Volatile material prices fuelled uncertainty. Developers were reluctant to invest, and architects were unable to reassure their clients. It was a critical moment for the entire sector.

That’s where we came in. Our industrialised model, with purchasing planning and factory processes, allowed us to guarantee deadlines and prices from the start of manufacturing. And that security became the lever we needed to fully open up the professional market.

The result: record-breaking sales to professionals, which accounted for almost 40% of the total volume for the year. A change of direction that marked a turning point for inHAUS.

In short, 2022 was a year of filling ourselves with people and houses again: inside the factory, in our sales and, above all, in our shared experiences.
