inHAUSER Experience:
Tiana Catalogue House in the Balearic Islands

Client interviews

In the following article we interview Herbert, the protagonist of this case with his Tiana model catalogue house in the Balearic Islands. Customers of German origin who decide to build a house in Spain to be able to enjoy the whole family.

An industrialised house of 358 m² exactly like the Tiana model, with a conventional layout and a characteristic S-shaped elevation, which highlights the play of volumes and aesthetics.

Good morning, Mr. Herbert. I’m going to ask you some questions about the house and the whole process.

Can you tell us a bit about your background and why you decided to build a house in Spain?

– I am very happy to see the house already in place. About our background, we come from the Stuttgart area and our daughter, who has been living in Palma de Mallorca for six years, got married and now that she has a small child, we said let’s go to Mallorca with them.

So first we thought about buying a house and we did, but it didn’t go well. We were doubly disappointed with both the quality and the overall transaction. Thank God we were able to resolve the matter and somehow found inHAUS. It was our son-in-law who gave us the idea of building a house with you, which we did.

Then we flew to Valencia, had a look at the factory and I, who have an extensive background in project development, can say that the modular construction I saw there is massive, yes, massive. That really attracted me a lot. Above all the discipline and the production system you have, totally similar to the automotive processes, that also attracted me.

I also believe that this is the future of construction and that is why I realised relatively quickly, with the kind people at inHAUS, that we would go down this road together.

What attracted you most to us and the design when you were looking for a company to build your house in Spain?

– Well, as I had already mentioned, on the one hand I was attracted by the modular design, for me that is the future of construction. On the other hand, I have to make a small note, we love the ‘Bregenzerwald’ (a mountain area in one of the main regions of Austria) where incredible houses are built, with excellent architecture. We saw a house there years ago and said that this is what our house would be like.*

*The Bregenzerwald is built in a special and unique way. Traditional and old wooden houses and designs coexist with modern buildings with large windows and sustainable materials.

Now we have discovered exactly that dream design at inHAUS, the Tiana model. Of course, as soon as we saw it, it wasn’t difficult to say: Marcos, this is what our house should look like. Yes, that’s how it should be and that’s how it turned out.

And I have to say that I feel one hundred per cent satisfied with the ideas I had in mind, they have fulfilled my expectations and I can say that I have built many houses. Beautiful, very, very good.

Now when I look at it and stand in front of it, I’m very happy. I’m excited to see the result of the whole process, what has happened with the plans, the visualisations and so on…

How was the process and communication with the inHAUS team? How would you rate the overall impression?

Positive in general, especially with Marcos, who always kept a good dialogue with me, close, empathetic and contributing ideas. That was excellent, I really appreciated it.

And finally, how did you feel on the day of completion and implantation? What did it mean to you to see your new house implanted?

– Wow, so powerful!

The pool also turned out exactly as we had imagined. We commissioned inHAUS with the development, so that the house blends in with the surroundings, the design, the structure and also everything that is necessary in terms of civil engineering and other infrastructural measures.

“That’s why we did it all through inHAUS, so that everything is done in an interconnected way. Now we can see the result. A feeling of euphoria.”
